 Digital Design   

 Program Overview

This program focuses on broad, transferable skills to prepare students for employment in digital and web publishing, graphic designing and multi-media animation. Content includes practical experiences in computer-generated art and text, graphic design, graphic production, electronic design skills, preparation of electronic layouts and illustrations, and development of specialized skills in multimedia presentations. Recognizing the workplace requires a broad range of knowledge and skills, the program is taught via a multi-discipline approach, which includes management and marketing, written and oral communications, problem solving, and team building.  

 The Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) certification in Dreamweaver, Flash, and Photoshop are offered at no cost to students.

Course Sequence

  • Introduction to Information Technology: grades 9 to 12

  • Digital Design 1: grades 9 to 12

  • Digital Design 2: grades 10 to 12

  • Digital Design 3: grades 11 to 12

  • Digital Design 4: grades 11 to 12

Workforce Application

A student who completes each of the following classes earns the corresponding Occupational Completion Point (OCP) and Industry Classification title:

  • Introduction to IT:  OCP A, Information Technology Assistant

  • Digital Design 1: OCP B, Production Assistant

  • Digital Design 3: OCP C, Digital Assistant Designer

Articulated College Credit

An Articulation Agreement with Indian River State College (IRSC) earns a student 21 college credits for an Associate of Science degree upon completion of the Digital Design program.
