Week of November 22

Congratulations to our Girls’ Volleyball Team on making it to the State Championship! JBHS would like to congratulate Kaitlyn Hof-Mahoney, Hanna James, Patrick Jekanowski, Janna Lord, and Reva Satchell for being chosen as All-State Choir Singers.

Congratulations to the following seniors who will be representing JBHS as our 2010 Pathfinder Candidates.  Academic Excellence- Mallory Daly, Art- Maddy Schmidt, Business- Ryan Borden, Communications- Alyssa Forbess, Community Involvement-Meera Nagarsheth, Computer Science- Jamie Braun, Drama- Jake Dromerhauser, Foreign Language- Lauren McKinney, Forensics/Speech- Trey Levy, History/Political Science- David Jadon, Literature- Grace Willert, Mathematics- A. J. Lawrence, Music/Instrumental- Nick Bianco, Music/Vocal- Amy Ulrich, Reach for Excellence- Kelsey Kennedy, Science- Max Wallace, Sports- Lauren Gorodetsky, and Technical/Vocational- Matt LeBlanc.  They will be competing against over 45 schools in Martin and Palm Beach Counties for fame, recognition and college scholarships. There will be no school from Wednesday, November 25 to Friday, November 27.

 Week of November 15

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, November 17 from 5pm to 8pm, call our guidance department to make an appointment. There will be no school on Friday, November 20.  There will be a SAC Meeting in our Media Center on Tuesday, November 17 at 5:00pm.  There is a Band Car Wash today at Steak n Shake in Jensen Beach from 11am to 3pm.  JBHS would like to congratulate Mikey Hartman for being selected for this year’s All-State Jazz Band! He is one of five trumpets from the entire state of Florida selected for this ensemble.  JBHS Drama will be presenting “Butterflies Are Free” beginning Wednesday, November 18 and running until Saturday, November 21.  Show times are at 7:30pm in the JBHS Auditorium with an additional 2:00pm showing on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at the door.

Week of November 8

The National Art Honor Society and National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 10 at 7pm in the Auditorium.   Congratulations to all the new members! There will be no school Wednesday, November 11 for Veteran’s Day.  Report Cards will be distributed on Thursday, November 12.  There will be a Band Car Wash on Saturday, November 14 at the Steak n Shake in Jensen Beach from 11am to 3pm.  Stop by and support our award winning band!  Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, November 17 from 5pm to 8pm, contact our guidance department to schedule an appointment.  JBHS is participating in the Food for Families Food Drive, please bring in canned/boxed non perishable food. The drop off location is in the front office or students can turn food into their third block teachers. 

Week of October 25

First Semester Midterm Exams for blocks 1 and 2 will be Wednesday, October 28 and for blocks 3 and 4 on Thursday, October 29. Band will be selling bagels, pastries, and juice during exam breaks on both Wednesday and Thursday. All items are a $1.00. There will be no school for students on Friday, October 30, it is a Teacher Work Day. Congratulations to seniors Seth Albers, Mallory Daly, Lauren McKinney, Meera Nagarseth, Holly Nelson, and Natasha Petrovich. They were nominated by Jensen Beach High School for the Martin County Character Counts Joe Kordick Youth Character Award. The Joe Kordick Youth Character Award honors worthy young people who embody the “Six Pillars of Character”-trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Spanish Honor Society will be having a car wash at the Steak n Shake in Jensen Beach on Saturday, October 31 from 11am to 3pm.

Week of October 18

There will be Early Release on Wednesday, October 21.  Local scholarship information will be provided to Seniors this week and will also be posted on our school’s website.  JBHS will be hosting its Sixth Annual Homecoming Week beginning Monday, October 19.  The Homecoming Parade will be Wednesday, October 21 beginning at 6pm.  Come and support our school! The Homecoming Carnival will be Thursday, October 22 from 5pm to 8pm in the JBHS Courtyard.  Everyone is welcome to attend! Children can wear their Halloween Costumes and go Trick or Treating around the booths.  Entrance is $2.00 and Blow up Activity Wristbands are $3.00.  Come join us for food, music, and Halloween fun!  Homecoming Dance Tickets are $15.00 and will be sold during all lunches, or can be purchased for $20.00 at the door.  The dance is Saturday, October 24 from 8pm to 12am in the JBHS Gym.

Week of Oct 11

Congratulations to Casey Lamrouex, Grace Willert, and Trent Willis on earning National Merit Commended status!  Students who are interested in taking the CPT for the first time may register in guidance for the November 5th test. The deadline to register is Monday, October 26.  JBHS will begin our annual participation in the Food for Families Food Drive on Monday, October 12.  Students are encouraged to bring in non perishable boxed or canned food.  There will be a SAC meeting in the JBHS Media Center on Wednesday, October 13 at 5:30pm. Homecoming Float building will be held Friday, October 16 from 4pm to 8pm, and Saturday, October 17 from 9am to 4pm at the Martin County Fair Grounds.  Please see the JBHS website for a complete listing of all Homecoming Events and times.

Week of Sep 27

There will be no school on Monday, September 28. There are Parent Teacher Conferences at JBHS on Tuesday, September 29 from 5pm to 8pm. The Four Year Planning Presentation for Parents will be from 6pm to 8pm in the JBHS Auditorium during Parent Teacher conferences on September 29. Congratulations to Mallory Daly and Eileen Pepple! They both earned National Merit Semifinalist positions. Juniors may register for the October 14 PSAT. Register in guidance by October 2nd. The fee is $14. All sophomores are registered for the test. Practice and information materials were distributed to students last week. There will be a Spanish Honor Society Car Wash at Steak n Shake in Jensen Beach from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, October 3. Come support their club!

Week of Sep 20

There will be an Early Release Day on Wednesday, September 23.  Interims will be given to students on Wednesday, September 23.  Underclassmen Photos are being taken Wednesday and Thursday, September 23 and 24th in the JBHS Auditorium.  Photo order forms were given to students.  Juniors may register for the October 14 PSAT. Register in guidance by October 2nd. The fee is $14. All sophomores are registered for the test. Practice and information materials were distributed to students last week.  Come join the seniors and juniors as they play their annual Powder Puff football game on Friday, September 25.  There will be a JBHS Band Car Wash on Saturday, September 26 at the Jensen Beach High School Steak n Shake from 9am to 2pm.

Week of Sep 13

Jensen Beach High School will be having an Early Release Day on Wednesday, September 23 and interims will be distributed.   There will be a Spanish Honor Society Car Wash on Saturday, September 19 at the Steak n Shake in Jensen from 11am to 3pm.  Stop by and support their club!  SADD/SWAT will be hosting its first blood drive of the year on Wednesday, September 30 from 7:30am-2:00pm; special forms are needed if students are under the age of 18.
