Through www.congressionalaward.org the Congressional Award the U.S. Congress recognizes young Americans who challenge themselves by setting and achieving goals in one of four areas:
- Volunteer Public Service
- Personal Development
- Physical Fitness
- Expedition/exploration Activities
There are six levels of the award:
- Bronze Certificate
- Silver Certificate
- Gold Certificate
- Bronze Medal
- Silver Medal
- Gold Medal
The minimum age to earn an award is 14 years and you must accomplish the goals by your 24th birthday. Additionally, you must work an adult advisor to set individual goals and plan activities to reach these goals.
