The Jensen Beach High School Concert Band and Symphonic Band are made up of wind and percussion students in grades 9 – 12. These ensembles have consistently received Superior ratings and given numerous community performances since the opening of Jensen Beach High School in 2004. Members of the Concert Band and Symphonic Band have been selected for honor bands, such as All-State ensembles, Florida State University's Tri-State Festival, the University of South Florida’s Festival of Winds, the University of Miami’s Honor Band and various other district honor ensembles. The band’s list of repertoire consists of pieces from Classical to Pops and the main focus of the ensemble is to develop the student’s abilities to listen, perform, and appreciate wind band music. In 2008, JBHS received its first Otto J. Kraushaar award from the Florida Bandmaster's Association. The Kraushaar award is given to bands that receive STRAIGHT Superior ratings at every FBA Assessment throughout the year.
